While I was born and raised in Tupelo, Mississippi, I am now home in Tennessee. My parents instilled in me a strong work ethic as well as love and compassion for all. My favorite pastimes were playing basketball, running cross country and track, and cheering on the Mississippi State University Bulldogs. After graduating high school, I attended Millsaps College. I earned a BA in Elementary Education, Special Education, and Library and Media Science. After teaching 3rd, 4th, and 5th graders, I had the opportunity to earn my Master's degree in Marriage and Family Therapy and Counseling. I have integrated my Master's degree into my approach to teaching which enables me to serve the whole child. I have worked in the Mississippi schools as a librarian and interventionist. Some of my favorite childhood memories are of visiting my Grandfather and Aunt in central Tennessee. I am now excited to bring my experiences and enthusiasm in service to the faculty, parents, and students of J. Brown Elementary School.
